Al (J-L24 Y-DNA Project) has been slowly testing L927 recently from J-L24-Y-DNA Project funds so he could see where L927 resided. Then he checked Vince's new J-file for L927 (B37 position 2773548, B36 position 2833548, ymap.ftdna) and it shows a number of 1000 Genomes people derived.

Bonnie thinks that except J2a3* Clusters C, D and E (in J-Project) all others look like they'll be L927+ !!! See also this post here. I agree to that. So we should have a basal "near to" L26 SNP that can bring important information in L26+ people (be it negative or positive).

Please consider testing this SNP if you are L24- and join at Y-DNA_J if you have not done so.

Is it true that NA20513 and NA20815 are M92+? I thought that they were M67+/M92-.

By doing more and more STR-calculations I also think cluster C (one member L927-) is near to M319, M47, L1064, L198 and M68. See also in the L26+ news thread. By this I'm not sure if any of this clades share L927. But others calculating M67 against M319/M47 claim a clustering. We will just have to wait for results.

Sorry I can't answer as I'm no 1000 Genomes insider currently (hope to jump in). Please ask Bonnie.

Roy

Hi Roy, I thought you were in on the emails we were exchanging about this. No, unfortunately it turned out that I had missed the fact that these samples are positive for one of the SNPs that's equivalent to M92. So the SNPs I discovered in them don't define an independent clade of M67, but rather, they're just more equivalent SNPs for M92.

Bonnie thinks that except J2a3* Clusters C, D and E (in J-Project) all others look like they'll be L927+ !!!

I think C, D, E, and F are the most likely to be L927-, and probably some of the singletons.

Bonnie
