A few days ago, I was approved for the Walk Through the Y test at FTDNA. Because the WTY is now more extensive than before, the cost for public results has increased from $750 to $950. I think there's a great possibility that this test will find mutations relevant to haplogroup N, especially considering that the new version of the WTY covers so many more base pairs than the old one.

I am part of the the L1034 branch, which comprises only 9 out of 254 members of the N North Eurasian Project on FTDNA. Of the other eight members, I have genetic distances of 4, 4, 9, and 11 from the four members with 37 markers; 13 from the one member with 67 markers; and 15 and 29 from the two members with 111 markers. Valikhan Dumshebayev has taken the WTY test, and he's the member who I'm 29 steps away from. I'm not sure which other L1034 members have taken the WTY or if any have at all.

I'm not normally one to ask for donations, but I think this test could yield some beneficial results for many more members of haplogroup N than just me. I've paid $50 towards it so far, so the balance is now at $900. If you'd like to make a donation, the best way is probably through the project I mentioned above since I'm in contact with those admins more than with anyone else.

If anyone has any questions, let me know. And thank you ahead of time to anyone who decides to donate any amount of money.

Muchísimas gracias, Sasha. Thank you so much. They just sent me a new set of swabs, so I'll try to get the most unique sample I can. ;) Also, I plan to match your donation once I get through the giant cluster of a banking problem I've had this week. That should bring the balance down to $700.

Does anyone have any information about the kit #264097 that is getting the WTY test?

I don't see that kit number in any of the Hg N projects. Is it a Hg N person?

His sample just arrived and I'd expect 3-4 months until results come up.

The Finch2 server says that the WTY for kit 264097 is complete. It found new SNPs numbered L1417-L1423.

Still no idea who it is? Can you see if he has any known SNPs?
