Is Z1936 the most appropriate SNP test for kit 224955 to order? The Semargl database predicts him to be N-Z1936. Is that the most up-to-date prediction? He has 33 at DYS449.

He looks like he could be N-Z1936*, although the DYS449=33 doesn't really fit. He does have DYS537=8 and DYS390=23 though. I'd have him test Z1936 first

Yes, I, as a moderator of N-section of the semargl base, think that Z1936 is the SNP which value is most likely can be positive for kit 224955.

He ordered it. Thanks for the advice.

I have ordered Z1935 as you have advised in the N-Z1936 Project for my kit 176931. I haven't tested for Z1936 yet though. Is Z1935 the best marker for me to test?

Are you 176931? If so, you're right—you should change your order to Z1936. Your haplotype looks like either Z1936* or L1034.

I'm not sure how I messed up my member subgrouping so badly, but it makes no sense how I have it now. I'm going to wait till about 6:00 PM my time and then completely redo everything for the last time (that's 3:00 AM Finland time, and I want to regroup everyone when the fewest number of people are online because I'm sure it was really confusing for people when I was changing things around constantly).

In any case, you ordered the test right after FTDNA's weekly batch, so you have a full week to change it. I can also email them for you if you want.

(I just saw your signature and realized that that is the right kit number.)

OK, I have already tested L1034-, so if you think the Z1936 makes sense I will contact FTDNA to change the order.

Yeah, I would say if you're not L1034+, then you're Z1936+ (xZ1935, L1034). If not that, then VL29+. I apologize for making it so confusing. I'm actually glad you pointed that out though because I realized that group 1.4 of the project still said to order Z1935. I had tried to change it to say to order Z1936, but I guess it didn't take. I still need to move a lot of people around though. The whole project is just a giant CF right now.

Hang on. I'm a complete idiot. I'll private message you. Hopefully you haven't changed your order yet.
