I don't even know where to go with this. I'm just stunned. I was expecting to find Basque or even Portuguese background for my fathers mothers dna.

It came back A! A! I'm going to run it through the mitosearch as soon as I can keep my jaw off the floor.

I don't know if it breaks down any further as I'm all tapped out of funds after running the deep clade for his Y dna. James or Gail can you tell me what you think this is besides a plain A? I also think you should know that my Grandmother is from Costa Rica where there are now extinct Indian tribes. Is she related to one of these or another from S. America? Her last known Ancestor was Agustina Mendes, Costa Rica 1780

Did my infancy succeed another age of mine that dies before it? Was it that which I spent within my mother's womb? . . . And what before that life again, O God of my joy, was I anywhere or in any body?

Of course, story of my life. Mitosearch has "0" matches for my grandmother! :roll:

Help! Can anyone tell me if this looks to be A2 or A4?

Considering all the HV1 snps it appears to be at least an A4:
@16223T branches to N*
@@16290T and @@16319A branch to A
@@@16362 Branches to A4

It could be an A4e with further testing below 16024.

Okay thats what I thought too using the phylo tree but I wasn't sure if I was going about it correctly. A4? Huh she is from Costa Rica but her names were Portuguese. My dad and I were thinking they came north via S. America perhap Brazil but I don't know what all the indigenous tribes are. Are they mostly A2 or A4? I did a search for Costa Rican indigenous but I got nothing.

So you think she is A2?

Now I'm right back where I was... confused :lol:

Whoops Maximus is correct: A2

because of @@@@16111T move to A2

I just got in a hurry where I listed it on my notes but missed looking at 16111.

That is why I was confused. It was going back and forth on the phylotree and I didn't know which one took priority as I saw some of the numbers on the A4 side.
