Hi,

this is a thread dedicated to research on Tatars and their DNA, but also in my case, my own family's ties to these people via DNA, i have a personal DNA blog of sorts, which i update from time to time when i have news worthing of an update.

My blogs address regarding possible Tatar ancestry:

I am hoping a few Tatars or people with ties to Tatars will join this forum so we can get a lively debate going, it would be great to find out more about such connections...
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I just ran that part of your genome with the Asian half-segment through ChromoPainter.

It looks like you have an Uzbek match there, and so does your uncle.

In fact, both of you have quite a few Turkic hits in that region compared to other Euros (Uzbek, Turkmen, Chuvash, etc.), and you both pull towards the Altai region based on a PCA of the data. So it looks like this: Eastern China > Hexi Xorridor > Uzbekistan > Volga region > Norway

You can get all the files here...

Probably make the Chunk Lengths the first port of call, because that's easy to read, and the info is very clear. For example, if you sort the table, you'll see your uncle first, and then the Uzbek.

New link added for files:

I wonder if this is the signature of Merchant routes or nomads originating in eastern China?

PS: There will be an update released some time in the not to distant future
