I have written and posted this for 23andMe, but it could be interesting also here:

I have written in the past about this stuff (MtDNA H and the Italian Refugium, Mitochondrial DNA, in www.worldfamilies.net).
After Behar 2012b, this is the situation of the hg. H41a:

JQ702060 Behar Haplogroup [H41a] 07-APR-2012

I have summed all the mutations found:

C262T A263G 309.1C 309.2C 315.1C 573.1C A750G A1438G C3792T A4769G T4838C G5460A A6284G T7674C G8251A A8860G G9554A G9804A T10124C T11899C T12121C T12696Y C14055T A14118G C14433T A15326G G15617A A16183- T16189C 16193.1C C16261T A16293C T16356C

And others I could add from those found in some H41a on www.smgf.com:
16172C, 16311C, 16328T, 16354T.

My cousin Monica (daughter of my father’s sister) has these mutations:
263G 750G 1438G 5460A 8860G 10124C 15326G 15617A 16261T

not tested from 23andMe:
262 3792 4838 6284 7674 9554 9804 14055 14118 14433 16183 16189 16293

ancestral ones:
8281A 11899T 12121T 12696T 16172T 16311T 16328C 16354C 16356T

It seems that the H41a found by Irene Pichler et al. amongst the Hutterites and present in my cousin is diffused, from the data taken by smgf, above all in the Isles, even though they often belong to the same descent. With 16261T + 16224C we have an Italian. With 16161T + 16311C and 16354T we have a Lithuanian. Other mutations in HVRII are: 16172 in Czech Republic, 16328 in Sweden. But the ancestral haplotype is that with no mutation in HVRII found from Central Europe to the Isles.

If someone were hg. H* with 15617A but no mutation in 5460 (G and not A) and in 10124 (T and not C), this could be the ancestral H41* and would be very interesting.

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out my own haplogroup. I have all the polymorphisms for HV but with A263G, A8860G, T14581C, A15326G, G15617A, T16298C & T16311C. Do you think I might fall into H41?
