Would you expect most members of I1e2 to show much similarity in STR haplotypes? At least 2 STR clusters have been identified in I1e2, but some members show no close STR similarity, and my impression is that the latter group may constitute the majority. Any thoughts?

It's good to see the visuals of the new 'system' - I will really have to dig into my pockets and get some testing done by FTDNA soon!

It's quite interesting to see now that I1 has so many official branches - Catching up with the R1b's :], slowly...

Kind Regards,
Sam Jackson

This looks like a new yDNA I1 tree..I,m thinking the last one stated Z58 Z59 was classed as I1f, now this one shows Z58 is I1e..with my last test I show z382+..so I,m at the end of the line of z58-z59 again...

Does anybody have a reason for keeping Private SNPs, like M21 and M507/P259, on the updated tree?

Even without the Private SNPs, the tree is soon going to become very large and hard to use.

Thanks Abbat!

About 5 days ago, Phil Goff submitted an I1 Tree update to ISOGG. Hopefully it will be approved soon and published.

The update corrected the placement of Z62 & DF29,
added L813, L803, L573, & Z382,
and suggested removing L211, M21, & M507/P259.
